Evening technical meeting organized by fib(UK) and IStructE

The fib National Member Group in the UK, fib(UK), and the Institution of Structural Engineers have announced a joint evening technical meeting on deflections in concrete, in recognition of the late Prof. Andrew Beeby. Three presentations will be given: Tensioning Stiffening, Service load tests at Cardington, and L/d: the current state of play.

Structural Concrete Journal: Call for papers

Structural Concrete, journal of the fib, is seeking original papers of the highest quality for publication. Papers will cover all aspects of the design, construction, performance in service, strengthening and demolition of concrete structures, including papers on research into the behaviour of structures and into the development of design methods. All papers will be subjected to a rigorous peer review process prior to acceptance for publication; the current average submission-to-acceptance time is 100 days. Since 2009, Structural Concrete is indexed in Thomson Reuter’s ISI Web of Science with an Impact Factor of 0.270.

fib 2014 Awards for Outstanding Concrete Structure: Call for entries

Entries are now being accepted for the 2014 edition of the fib Awards for Outstanding Concrete Structures. These awards are given every four years at the fib Congress to promote international recognition of structures that demonstrate the versatility of concrete as a structural medium. The winners of the 2014 edition will be presented at a special ceremony during the fib Congress in Mumbai, India (February 2014).

The deadline for application is 13 February 2013. For further information, download the entry procedure and entry form.


fib 2014 Congress in Mumbai: Call for papers

Abstracts are now being accepted for the 2014 fib Congress which will be held from 10-14 February 2014 in Mumbai, India. Details regarding topics and the submission procedure are given at: http://www.fibcongress2014mumbai.com/Content_CallPaper.aspx
