Call for papers – 2016 fib Symposium, February 2015
Prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts for the fib Symposium 2016, which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from 21 to 23 November 2016. Abstracts should be sent no later than 31 May 2015. Please visit the symposium website for submission requirements.
Early registration for Multi-Span Large Bridges in Porto, February 2015
The second round of early, reduced registration fees is open until 30 April 2015 for the Multi-Span Large Bridges conference to be held in Porto, Portugal, to be held from 1 to 3 July 2015. Please visit the conference website to register.

AAYE 2015 winners, March 2015
The jury, chaired by Mr Fernando Stucchi of Brazil, have announced the winners of the fib Achievement Award for Young Engineers (AAYE) 2015. In the research category Dr João Pedro Santos of Portugal was named joint winner for his PhD thesis Smart structural health monitoring techniques for novelty identification in civil engineering structures along with Dr Yuguang Yang of the Netherlands for his thesis Shear behaviour of reinforced concrete members without shear reinforcement – A new look at an old problem.
Mr Luca Cargnino of Italy is the winner of the design & construction category for his work on the Queensferry Crossing road bridge in Scotland. Mr Kåre Flindt Jørgensen of Denmark received a Special Mention for his work on the Bella Sky Hotel in Copenhagen.
