MC2010 hardcover edition available for pre-order
The hardcover edition of the fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010 is now available for pre-order from the publisher Ernst & Sohn: http://www.ernst-und-sohn.de/mc2010
The fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010 (MC2010) is the most comprehensive code on concrete structures including their complete life cycle. It represents an important document for both national and international code committees, practitioners and researchers.
In 2013 and 2014 the Structural Concrete Journal is publishing a series of articles that provide condensed information about important developments as well as background information on the recommendations in MC2010. All papers, included those that have been accepted but not yet published, can be found at: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1751-7648 by searching for the keyword “Model Code”.

Members of fib receive a variety of benefits including a subscription to the quarterly Structural Concrete Journal, access to online membership services, discounts on fib symposia, and a subscription to and/or discounts on (depending on membership category) fib‘s technical bulletins, published 4-6 times per year. UHPFRC 2013
The second edition of the International Symposium on Ultra-High Performance Fibre-Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) will take place from 1st to 3rd October 2013 in Marseille, France, with the theme, “Designing and Building with UHPFRC: from innovation to large scale realizations.”
Four after the first edition of UHPFRC, projects and constructions using UHPFRC have definitively gained growing importance in Europe and North America, as well as in Australia, Far East, and especially Japan. UHPFRC 2013 aims to update and complement the experience gained in the knowledge and use of UHPFRC, based on recent work in: design of building structures, components, civil works and bridges; industrial realizations (both on site and in precast factories); large-scale applications.

Structural Concrete – September 2013
The September 2013 issue of the Structural Concrete Journal is now available to fib members via the Wiley Online Library. Continuing the “Focus: fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010″ series, five of the issue’s nine articles deal with topics addressed in MC2010, with particular attention given in this issue to shear.
fib members can access the articles by logging on to the fib website and then going to the “Membership services online” page. Under the item “Structural Concrete Journal”, click on the “Wiley Online Library” link to access the journal issues. You can then go the table of contents of the September issue and download the individual PDF files of the articles.

The September 2013 issue of fib-news reports on the First International Conference on Concrete Sustainability held in Tokyo, the activities of fib Commission 6 “Prefabrication”, a recent fib Model Code for Concrete Structures meeting organized by the Belgian National Member Group and the Sixth International Symposium on Strait Crossings. It also profiles the fib Ukrainian national member NIISK on the occasion of their 70th anniversary.
