2014 fib Congress: extended deadline for abstracts

The deadline for submission of abstracts to the 2014 fib Congress in Mumbai, India, (10-14 February 2014) has now been extended until 15 May 2013. Submissions may be made through the online submission portal: https://www.softconf.com/d/fib2014/.

2013 fib Symposium in Tel Aviv

Register now for the 2013 fib Symposium, which will be held from 22 to 24 April 2013 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The symposium theme, “Engineering a Concrete Future: Technology, Modeling and Construction”, encompasses innovative aspects of concrete engineering in its various stages, including topics in several distinct areas of interest. The Tel Aviv symposium will be a great opportunity to learn about recent developments, technologies and current projects, share and discuss information and ideas with experts, form international networks and renew old acquaintances.

Call for papers: CIC2014

Abstracts are being accepted until 1st June 2013 for the Concrete Innovation Conference 2014 (CIC2014), taking place in Oslo, Norway on 11-13 June 2014. The themes for the conference will cover innovation in, but not limited to, the following areas: environmentally friendly concrete structures, efficient construction, structural design and structural performance, prolongation of service life.

In addition, to underline the importance of innovation, a contest will be organized to highlight the best innovation.

Third International Workshop on Concrete Spalling

Registration is now open for the 3rd International Workshop on Concrete Spalling due to Fire Exposure, which will be held in Paris from the 25th to the 27th September 2013. This third edition of the event follows the successful workshops held in Leipzig in 2009 and Delft in 2011.

The workshop will be a forum for presenting and exchanging experiences and developments in the field of spalling of concrete due to fire exposure. The workshop is co-organized by CSTB and INSA Rennes and supported by RILEM and fib.

Structural Concrete Journal – March 2013 issue

The March 2013 issue of the Structural Concrete Journal is now available in electronic form to fib members via the Wiley Online Library: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/suco.v14.1/issuetoc.

This issue marks the start of a series of articles on various new aspects of the design and analysis of structural concrete as published in the fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010, including implementation of fib Model Code 2010 rules in the operational code ISO 16204 and reliability-based non-linear analysis according to fib Model Code 2010.
