fib Symposium in Stockholm

The program for the fib Symposium in Stockholm, June 11-14, is now complete and available on the symposium website. Over 140 contributions will be presented in three parallel sessions on Monday through Wednesday. Keynote lectures will include Dr. Hanne Rönnebergm (head of the Norwegian research institute SINTEF), Prof. Koji Sakai of Japan (chairman of several international committees on concrete and sustainability), and presentations on American initiatives regarding sustainability, sustainable cement and concrete, and a case study from Abu Dhabi. Presentations during the technical sessions will cover topics such as sustainability, durability, CO2 uptake, concrete production, concrete structures, alternative binders, energy and fire protection, and LCC and LCA.

The event will be enhanced by a number of social and technical excursions: a reception in the famous Vasa ship museum, a boat trip to the small city of Vaxholm, and the symposium dinner on Kastellet (a historic fortress on a small island). On Thursday after the symposium there will be the possibility of a technical visit to Citybanan (a tunnel project under Stockholm City for commuter trains).
