Presidium:

The fib is delighted to announce its Presidium’s new composition. Prof. Hugo Corres Peiretti was elected as President for years 2017-2018 in the General Assembly meeting in Cape Town. Prof. Harald Müller is now Immediate Past President and Tor Ole Olsen is Deputy President.

Maastricht Symposium:

The next fib Symposium, entitled “High tech concrete: Where technology and engineering meet!” will be held from June 12 to 14 June 2017 at the MECC in Maastricht.

It will cover a wide range of topics: Materials technology, Modelling, testing and design, Special loadings, Safety, reliability and codes, Existing concrete structures, Durability and life time, Sustainability, Innovative building concepts, Challenging projects and Historic concrete. The 2017 Achievement Award for Young Engineers ceremony will be held on this occasion.

Structural Concrete, Issue 1 – February 2017:

Our journal Structural Concrete underwent several changes since its last issue in December 2016. Our journal was previously published by Ernst & Sohn. From now on, Structural Concrete will be published by Wiley, which is the primary company to which Ernst & Sohn belongs. There will be six issues instead of four per annum, which means that we will be able to publish more articles every year and the publishing time will be shorter. The final papers will be available online sooner, allowing the papers to be cited earlier.

The first issue of the fib’s Structural Concrete journal is available to fib members via the Wiley Online Library. Members can access the journal by going to the ‘Members only’ section of the fibwebsite (http://www.fib-international.org/) and clicking on the ‘Wiley Online Library’ link.

fib-news March 2017

The March issue of fib -news is available for downloading on the journal page of the fib website. It features articles on the fib Symposium in Cape Town, fib UK DISC, joint ACI-fib workshop on punching shear as well as shorter news.
