fib Bulletin 61 available

fib Bulletin 61, “Design examples for strut-and-tie models”, is now available for purchase from the fib secretariat. Further details and order information.

fib short courses

fib short courses and workshops are held around the world several times per year, bringing together international and local experts to present advanced knowledge on specialized topics. Recent courses have been held in New Delhi, India (Service Life Design of concrete structures) and Athens, Greece (Earthquake resistance of precast concrete structures). The next will be held in South Africa on 5, 7 and 8 March 2012, on the topic of concrete structures in fire. For more information, see http://www.fib-international.org/courses

 

Structural Concrete – Dec. 2011 issue

The December issue of the Structural Concrete Journal has a special focus on the February 2011 earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. The issue is already available in electronic form to fib members via the Wiley Online Library: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1751-7648

 

fib-news December 2011 now available

The December 2011 issue of fib-news features the recent approval of the Model Code 2010 by the fib General Assembly, looks ahead to the 2012 symposium in Stockholm, and reports on the fib Short Course on “Earthquake resistance of precast structures” held in Athens in September. The PDF file is now available for free downloading from the fib website.

 

Registration for Hipermat 2012

Registration is open for the 3rd International Symposium on Ultra-High Performance Concrete (“Hipermat 2012″: High Performance Construction Materials), taking place in Kassel, Germany, on 7-9 March 2012. Call for papers: fib Symposium Tel-Aviv 2013

Abstracts are now being accepted for the fib 2013 Symposium in Tel-Aviv, Israel (22-24 April 2013). Submissions related to the theme of the event, “Engineering a Concrete Future: Technology, Modeling and Construction”, will be accepted until 2 April 2012.
