Extended Abstract Submission Deadline for 2017 Maastricht Symposium
The OC of the fib’s 2017 Symposium in Maastricht has announced that they are extending the abstract submission deadline to 15 October 2016. They have already received over 260 high quality papers and are open to receiving even more submissions. The symposium will be held from 12 to 14 June 2017 in Maastricht, the Netherlands. For abstract submission details and symposium topics, please visit the symposium website.
AAYE Call for Entries
Entries are being accepted for the fib’s Achievement Award for Young Engineers (AAYE) which recognizes the work of engineers under the age of 40. The 2017 AAYE will be presented at the fib’s Symposium in Maastricht, the Netherlands in June 2017. The award is being given in honour and memory of Professor A.S.G. Bruggeling, and the prize money is being generously sponsored by DYWIDAG-Systems International B.V. and SPANBETON B.V. Candidates must be endorsed by an fib national delegation and the deadline for award entries is 1 November 2016. Please visit the fib website for candidate eligibility and submission requirements.
fib Bulletin 78: Precast-concrete buildings in seismic areas
fib Bulletin 78 Precast-concrete buildings in seismic areas is now available in the fib’s online store. Bulletin 78 presents the main principles of seismic design of different structural systems, their behavior and their construction techniques of precast buildings through rules, construction steps and sequences, procedures and details.
fib Bulletin 79: Fibre-reinforced concrete: From design to structural applications
fib Bulletin 79, Fibre-reinforced concrete: From design to structural applications, is now available in the fib’s online store. Although fibre-reinforced concrete has been used for several decades – quite modestly in regards to its enormous potential – it is only recently that it has reached a level of maturity such that it can be used by engineers with confidence. From that perspective, this bulletin provides the state-of-art on the recent progress made in terms of specifications and actual applications.
Structural Concrete, September 2016
The September 2016 issue of the fib’s Structural Concrete journal is available to fib members via the Wiley Online Library. Members can access the journal by going to the ‘Members only’ section of the fib website and clicking on the ‘Wiley Online Library’ link.
