Born in 1945, in 1970, PhD in structural engineering from TU Denmark.
2 years volunteer in charge of low-cost road construction in Peruvian Andes.
Research and teaching in Copenhagen and Cambridge, principally on application of plasticity theory to shear in concrete members.
In 1979 joins consulting company Ramboll.
1992 – 2005 in Ramboll Department of Bridges.
Design basis to the 16 km Øresund Link road and rail strait crossing between Denmark and Sweden.
Since 2005 attached to Ramboll Energy Division, dept. of Pipelines.
Active member of CEB since 1977 and of FIB since 1996, participated in the 1998 merger forming fib,
Head of the Danish delegation 2016 – 18.
Currently corresponding member of fib COM 2 Analysis and Design.
Active in IABSE and ACI, and in Danish Codes’ Committees.
Author or co-author of a number of papers, reports and monographs on concrete plasticity, marine pipelines, and bridge and tunnel projects.
